Our Aim
To help our Members protect their legacy
Your will is often your last message to your loved ones. It is a legal document that is unique to you and can help make sure your assets, the people and things you love are taken care of after you’re gone.
Enduring powers of attorney (EPAs) are legal documents that allow you to appoint someone you trust to make important decisions on your behalf if you can’t make these decisions yourself due to illness or injury.
Having a will and EPA in place before it’s needed ensures that if anything ever happens there is someone who can step in and legally represent you and your wishes. It's also an important part of being financially resilient.
In association with Public Trust, we aim to empower our members to protect the things that matter most for the people that matter.
If it’s important to you, say it with a will
A will is a legal document that sets out what you want to happen after you pass away, including what you’d like to happen with your assets, such as:
- divided equally between family members.
- setting aside university money for your kids.
- pre-paying your dog’s treats to help their new guardian.
- donating to the charity of your choice. or specific gifts you want to leave to loved ones.
A will also outlines your wishes or special requests for your funeral.
An enduring power of attorney (EPA) is a living will
You never know when you might need someone to make a big decision on your behalf while you’re still living.
An enduring power of attorney (EPA) is a legal document which is designed to be put in place during your lifetime to protect your assets and welfare on your behalf if you’re no longer able to. An EPA is useful if you are overseas, unwell, or simply want someone else to take responsibility for your affairs.
These big decisions are about your care, like which rest home you might go into, choice of medical treatments; as well as practical help with managing your property and finances taking care of bank transactions, selling your property, and paying your bills on your behalf.
